Day 1
Marrakech – Ourika valley – Imlil village – Agafay desert.
Depart from Marrakech in the morning and head towards the mountains. Leave the urban life behind and ride on nature trails that allow seeing lots of attractions (landscapes, villages, the flora etc). Ourika valley stretches deep from the mountains into the plains of Marrakech and, indeed, offers fresh air to its visitors. Stop off at Setti Fatma, a big weekend resort for the people of Marrakech, to enjoy the beauty of the greenery and the river running down the valley. Continue the drive up to Imlil, a small village at the foothills of the High Atlas Mountains. Imlil is renowned for its proximity to Toubkal mountain peak. At 4,167 meters, it is the highest peak in Morocco and North Africa, thus a popular destination for mountaineers. When in Imlil, you may go for a walk around the village admiring its nice weather.
Have lunch and make your way to Agafay, a rocky and hilly desert located about thirty kilometers southern Marrakech. Indeed, Agafay is a place of peace and serenity after days in the hustle of Marrakech. However, it occupies a vast area and therein a large number of luxurious camps. Upon your advent, you will spend the night in one of these camps with the chance to experience a peaceful and starry night.
